Jan
Hansen, having worked in casinos across Europe
and developed a taste for luxury confectionary,
first opened a chocolate shop in Stamford in
1986 before moving to Billingborough in 1988.
He has since moved his market leading handmade
chocolate business to The Chocolate House in
Folkingham, a move which took place in 2005.
Recently he has developed these
premises further with the extension of the chocolate
café, which now caters for 60 people.
His specialised chocolates have gained such
a reputation throughout the area that Jan now
opens his shop five days a week (Wednesday to
Sunday) and is busy all year round.
The premises also boast chocolate
artefacts and chocolate making factory with
the host always keen to share his knowledge
of the land's favourite confectionary.
